Valentina’s research interests are focused on zooarchaeological and taphonomic analisys of faunal remains, mostly of Middle Palaeolithic sites. Through this study, she explores the Neanderthal subsistence, behaviour, and their occupations in cave sites.
Valentina studied Cultural Heritage at Università degli Studi del Molise (Italy). To pursue her studies of Palaeolithic archaeology, she moved to Ferrara, where she started her master’s in Quaternary, Prehistory and Archaeology. Her training process culminated in the master’s thesis about the faunal remains of San Bernardino Cave (northeast of Italy). In 2018 she applied for Erasmus+ traineeship to carry out an internship at IPHES. In 2021 she received the Ph.D. fellowship funded by FCT and started her study experience at ICArEHB.
