Researcher – UMR 8068 TEMPS Technologie et Ethnologie des Mondes Préhistoriques

Research Interests

My work focuses on the technical and behavioural diversity of human groups during the Acheulean. Through the technological study of lithic artefacts, I investigate how the skill level of knappers influences the internal variability of the corpus, aiming to gain a deeper understanding of the intentions underlying the knapping activity. The ultimate goal is to assess the cognitive capacities of early hominins and trace the factors that contributed to the appearance of our species. My main research areas include East Africa and the Near East.

Short Bio

Graduated in History by the University of Valencia (2010). After completing my Master’s in Prehistory at Nanterre University, with the mentorship of Jacques Pelegrin, I joined the Italian Archaeological Mission at Melka Kunture and Balchit, to work on the late Acheulean site of Garba I. My Ph.D. was jointly supervised by La Sapienza University and Nanterre University. After two years postdoc at Tel Aviv University I am now part of the DIASPORA Project (ICArEHB).
