Research Interests
My research focus on woodland exploitation and use of fire, especially in Prehistory, since Paleolithic to Chalcolithic, to understand the impact of these resources and technology in the economy and social complexity of these communities.
Short Bio
BA in Archaeology in Universidade Nova de Lisboa, MSc. in Quaternary Sciences in Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea and PhD. in Archaeology in Universidade do Algarve. I specialize in charcoal analyses and have integrated several research projects in Prehistory and Medieval Age as Archaeobotanist, integrating ICArEHB since its foundation. I have coordinated several projects within rescue Archaeology and recently integrate Laboratório de Arqueociências, a research division of Direção-Geral do Património Cultural, as a Higher Technician in Archaeobotany.
