Due to several constraints, the dates for the 2nd Methods & Techniques for Studying Paleoenvironments Meeting (METECH) were changed for the 3rd to the 7th of June 2024. Thus, the abstract submission was extended until the 15th of March 2024.

We use this opportunity to remind you that in METECH, we aim to promote interdisciplinary approaches to Quaternary Studies. The Quaternary is the most recent geological period characterized by frequent climatic variations and consequent ecosystem adjustments. This was also the backdrop of Human evolution and adaptation.

Thus, to better understand paleoenvironmental changes and human-environmental interactions, several methods and techniques can be applied both in geological and archaeological settings. In this regard, the meeting themes are:

•             Environmental reconstructions from the Pleistocene to the Anthropocene;
•             Human-environment interactions and consequences;
•             Key human, climate and environmental transitions;
•             Methods and proxies applied to quaternary research.
