Short Bio

Born in 1956 is Full Professor of Prehistory at the Open University, Lisbon, Portugal. He is membership of several Academies, as Academy of Sciences of Lisbon, Portuguese Academy of History, Royal Academy of History of Madrid and the German Archaeological Institute (Berlin).
His activity as archaeologist, geologist and palaeontologist begun in 1975, and presently he is author or co-author of 650 papers and book chapters besides several books of archaeology, including two books dedicated to the Prehistory of Portugal.
