Research Interests

In ICArEHB, I hold a particular position since my priority is to support the researchers to obtain the funding necessary to do their research: I must identify the adapted funding schemes and I can help in all steps of the elaboration of the applications. My main mission is to diversify the source of funding.

In addition, I am contributing to the development of the institute by providing a critical view of our development, advising the strategy and support operation.

Finally, I am still a passionate scientist and I contribute to the research done in ICArEHB by providing consultancy in experimental design, statistical analysis, and even some ecological questions.

Short Bio

I have the chance that I have done research, or observed the way research is done, in many countries. I did my undergrad across three French universities, my PhD at the university of Lausanne (Switzerland), a postdoc in the woods of Pennsylvania (UPenn, USA), and another postdoc jointly between the universities of Edinburgh and Liverpool (UK), which overall gave me a strong expertise in disease ecology and life history traits theories in birds and small mammals.

Observing how research was made across different systems grew my interest in the “science of research”. As the coordinator of the doctoral group of iDiv (Germany), I oversaw the training of the future generation of researchers. In CCMAR (Faro), I supported the researchers in marine science to apply to funding, but also organized activities to encourage innovative science. In ICArEHB, we are in a privileged situation to push the science forward and create innovative ways of doing scientific research.
