Short Bio

Born in France, she graduated in Geology from Université Paris-XI Orsay, France, and doctorate in Environmental Sciences, in isotopic geochemistry, at the Université du Québec in Montreal, Canada. She is Assistant Professor with tenure since 2005 teaching in the Department of Earth, Marine and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Algarve.  In December 2014, she assumed the position of Executive Director of the Algarve Science Centre Museum, in Faro, where she is promoting a Participatory Science project for the coastal management. She was Sub-Director of the Faculty of Science and Technology, from 2009 to 2012 and President of the Pedagogic Council of the Faculty of Marine and the Environment Sciences in 2002-2003.  She participates in research project in the fields of palaeoceanography and paleoclimatology, sedimentology, submarine groundwater discharges  and karst systems, with several works published in specialized journals as well as in Congress proceedings and book chapters. She supervised masters and doctoral theses and coordinated and participated in several research projects. She also organized and chaired scientific cafes entitled “Café Oceano” for nearly a decade and collaborated on numerous Science
