Short Bio
António Carlos Neves de Valera has a degree in History and another in Archaeology, a master and a PhD in Archaeology. Has developed research since 1988 focused in the Neolithic and Chalcolithic periods in Central and South Portugal. At present, is coordinating the Global Archaeological Research Program of Perdigões complex of ditched enclosures and has been a leading researcher regarding the prehistoric ditched enclosures phenomena in Portugal.
Is responsible for the research area of Era Arqueologia Company and for the research group on Prehistoric Complex Societies in the ICArEHB research centre.
Has a vast list of publications and has been engaged with several editorial projects in Arcaeology.
