Hunter-gatherers and drastic climate change – new volume published in the Journal of Quaternary Science

 Dr. João Cascalheira and Dr. Nuno Bicho are the editors of a new special issue of the Journal of Quaternary Science, entitled “The impact of drastic environmental changes in prehistoric hunter-gatherer adaptations”.
The volume brings together 9 contributions addressing strategic changes in the organization of prehistoric hunter‐gatherers as a response to drastic climate and environmental shifts. It includes topics such as lithic, organic tools, pyrotechnology, hunting strategies, pigment processing, use of plants and adornments, settlement strategies, starting with the Middle Stone Age and ending with the Mesolithic, and coming from a diversity of geographical contexts.
